The University Higher Education Fund held a workshop entitled “Enhancing the partnership between universities to contribute to supporting the financial sustainability of universities to align with Vision 2030” on Tuesday 7/14/1438 AH corresponding to April 11, 2017 AD under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Muhammad Al-Issa and in the presence of His Excellency the directors and deputies of public universities and with the participation Parthenon-Ernest Wing CEO Robert Lyttle.

At the beginning of the workshop, His Excellency Dr. Al-Issa welcomed the attendees and pointed out that education received great attention from the leader of the march, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Highness the Crown Prince, and His Highness the Deputy Crown Prince, and received generous support and great care, in recognition of its importance in building human knowledge and advancing the national economy. And develop it.
Al-Issa stressed that this workshop comes at a very important time, especially since the University Higher Education Fund seeks to develop new visions for its role in the future in light of the regulatory, administrative and economic developments taking place at the national level and at the education level in particular. His Excellency praised the positive relationship between the Fund and universities and that the Fund is a key partner in developing many programs and projects that serve universities.

The Secretary-General of the Fund, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Shuwaier, also explained that the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 drew a road map for sustainable development for the Kingdom and that the Fund adopted a strategic methodology based on developing the universities’ own resources by exploiting promising opportunities in universities by strengthening the partnership with the private sector, which gives added value to the private sector. education.

Then the workshop sessions began, the objectives of which revolve around activating the financial sustainability of universities by enabling the University Higher Education Fund to participate effectively in achieving the goals, policies and programs of the university higher education system in the Kingdom and working on strategies that keep pace with development requirements in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The workshop consists of two sessions. The first session is entitled (The Role of Investment Funds in Supporting the Financial Sustainability of Educational Institutions). The session is moderated by His Excellency the Director of King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dr. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Sultan, the Secretary-General of the Fund, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Shuwaier, speaking, and the Executive Director of Partheon – Ernst & Young. Speaking. The second session was entitled (Strengthening the partnership between universities and the University Higher Education Fund to contribute to supporting the financial sustainability of universities) and was chaired by Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman Al-Shuwaier.
